Lorie Cressman
Over the past few years, since graduating from the Applied Photography Program at Sheridan College, I have held several positions working in various studios around the Kitchener-Waterloo area. However, I found myself wanting to have more involvement in the creative process. I wasnt being challenged, and I had many ideas that I wanted to express on film, but wasnt given the chance to do so. I started to branch out on my own, and found I loved being my own boss, where I could decide, with my clients, on a common vision. Over the past two years I have been fortunate enough to be part of several weddings and various other photography projects.
I take joy in being a small part of peoples lives and thrive on and helping to create and capture unique moments as they happen. So often in photography with various poses and portraits seem to be so rigid and devoid of feeling or life with hard lines and discomfort. To avoid a disconnection between the person and their pose, I want to have fun with my clients, catching on film brief glimpses of who they truly are. My job is to reflect the real you in your portrait, not a moment lacking in special meaning.
Because I enjoy my job, I help my clients enjoy their time with me. Laughter is a large key in my photography shoots, along with spontaneity. Very often the best photographs come from having fun and letting loose!
I really have fun with my clients while shooting. You need to be able to have fun working with people. To me, it's all about enjoying yourself. Photography is my greatest passion, and I hope that people can see that in my work. Whether I am shooting portraits of children or adults, my fervent dedication to my craft shines through in each photograph. I treat each subject as a rare and special individual, allowing them to explore their own emotions throughout the shoot. Seeing children innocently playing, observing expectant mothers beaming from within, or watching couples share a quiet kiss are small, seemingly inconsequential moments that I take pride in capturing on film.
Thank you for visitingmy site! Please enjoy yourself and look around.
